Spring is finally here, so what better way to acknowledge this change in seasons than with some beer! For that, we'll be drinking Bohemian Pilsner
from Lazy Monk Brewing in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. And get this, Leos Frank, the brewmaster, is a native of the Czech Republic himself so we're getting
the real deal here!
The aroma starts out with some strong yeastiness and equally strong pilsner maltiness. There is also some pale maltiness and a touch of bitter hops
thrown in for good measure. This beer reminds me of smelling freshly baked bread.
The flavor is much like the nose in that it's very pilsner-malt and yeast buttery biscuit forward. There's also some pale maltiness & light hoppiness
in the back.
Between the simple yet delicious flavor and easy drinkability, this is arguably one of the best springtime beers that one could have right now. If
you're ever in the Eau Claire area, then this place is certainly worth a visit!
